Your data rights — export and delete

Your records are yours. How to download everything ChartKey holds, and how to delete your account completely.

ChartKey's starting position is simple: your records are yours. That means you can take a complete copy at any time, and you can leave — completely — at any time. Both are built in, not support tickets.

Export everything

From Settings → Your data, request an export. You'll receive:

• a complete machine-readable copy of your record (standard FHIR format — the same format hospitals exchange), and
• a readable summary PDF for humans.

The download link is sent to your verified email and expires after a short window, so a copy can't sit in an inbox forever.

Delete your account

From Settings → Your data, you can delete your account. Before anything is removed you'll re-confirm your identity — deletion is immediate and it is real:

• your records, documents, notes, timeline, and Keeper conversations are deleted from ChartKey's systems;
• stored files — clinical note text, exports, voice transcripts — are deleted;
• your sign-in itself is deleted.

Being signed out in the middle of deleting is the deletion completing, not failing.

What deletion doesn't touch

• Your hospital's own records. ChartKey holds a copy; the source record at your clinic is theirs and stays with them.
• Charts someone else manages with their own right to access. If another person in a care circle has their own authorized relationship to a chart, your leaving doesn't destroy their access to it.
• De-identified information. Aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably be linked to you may be retained, as described in our Privacy Policy.
