Connect your hospital or clinic

Bring your records into ChartKey by signing in to your patient portal — MyChart and hundreds of others.

ChartKey builds your chart from your real records. You connect a hospital or clinic once, and ChartKey keeps it up to date.

Before you start

You'll need the sign-in for your patient portal at that hospital or clinic — for many organizations that's a MyChart account. If you've never set one up, your clinic's front desk can help; ChartKey can't create one for you.

Steps

1. In ChartKey, choose Connect chart (top right, or from Settings).
2. Search for your hospital or clinic by name. Pick the one you actually visit — large systems sometimes list regions separately.
3. You'll be sent to your portal's own sign-in page. This is important: you enter your portal password with your hospital, never with ChartKey. ChartKey never sees or stores that password.
4. Approve the sharing request. Your portal will show what's being shared.
5. Come back to ChartKey — your records begin loading, usually within a minute or two for recent items.

After you connect

ChartKey refreshes your records automatically in the background. You can see every connection — and disconnect any of them — in Settings. Disconnecting stops future syncing; it doesn't remove what's already in your chart (you can manage that separately — see Your data rights).

If you can't find your organization

Not every hospital or clinic is connectable yet. If yours isn't listed, tell us with Send feedback — new organizations are added regularly, and knowing who you're waiting on genuinely moves them up the list.

Connecting for someone you care for

If you manage care for a child or family member, their records connect under their profile in your care circle, using their portal account (or proxy access your clinic has granted you). See the care circle screen in the app.
