How your records are protected

The controls that stand between your health information and anyone else, described plainly.

You handed us your medical history. Here is what actually protects it, in plain terms. The binding commitments are in our Privacy Policy; this page describes the mechanics.

Your records are encrypted

Your information is encrypted in transit and while stored. The files behind your clinical notes and documents are encrypted with keys we manage inside our cloud provider, not left sitting in the open.

Access is granted, never assumed

Nobody sees your health information because they happen to have an account. Someone in your care circle sees only what you have granted, and can be cut off immediately. See Your care circle.

Your portal password stays with your hospital

When you connect a clinic, you sign in on the clinic's own site. ChartKey never receives or stores that password, and the permission you grant there can be withdrawn there.

Every access is logged, including ours

Reads of your record are written to a log you can see. If we ever need to look at an identifiable record to support you, that requires a specific, time-limited reason and it appears in your own log. We built it that way so you never have to take our word for it.

What Keeper does with what you say

A conversation with Keeper is processed to pull out what belongs in your record, and you confirm before anything is saved. The AI models we use for this run inside our cloud provider's environment under our agreement with them; they are not used to train anyone's models.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information, and we do not send your health information to your clinicians or to anyone else on your behalf. When you share something, it is because you chose to.
