Getting started with ChartKey

The first ten minutes: set up your profile, connect a clinic, and see your records arrive.

ChartKey brings the records your hospitals and clinics already hold into one place, and gives you a companion called Keeper to help you keep track of them. Here is the whole setup.

1. Tell us whose records these are

After you sign in, ChartKey asks who you are setting up. Two answers:

• Myself. ChartKey creates your own profile.
• Someone I care for. ChartKey creates a profile for them instead, and you manage it. This is the path for a child, a parent, or anyone whose care you help with. They do not need their own account, and there is no age limit on the person whose records these are.

You can add more profiles later, so this choice is not permanent.

2. Connect a hospital or clinic

Choose Connect chart and find your hospital or clinic by name. You will sign in at their patient portal, not at ChartKey, and approve what they share. Your portal password stays with them. The full walkthrough is in Connect your hospital or clinic.

3. Watch the chart fill in

Recent items usually arrive within a minute or two. What comes across depends on what that organization shares: conditions, medications, allergies, lab results, immunizations, procedures, visits, and clinical notes are the usual set. See Reading your chart.

4. Say hello to Keeper

Open Keeper and talk, or type instead if you prefer. Ask about something in your record, or just say how you have been feeling. Keeper is an AI, not a clinician, and it will tell you the same thing. See Talking with Keeper.

What to do if a step does not work

• Your organization is not listed: tell us with Send feedback. We add more regularly, and knowing who you are waiting on genuinely helps.
• Records did not arrive: see Records are not updating.
